I manage
UTD Photo , a get together for UTD students to learn and practice photography, and I also contribute in mentoring students about the ins and outs of portraiture and general photography. Creating accessible photo shoots is another one of my duties.
My family moved from Vietnam to the United States in 1989; I was one year old when I arrived. I lived most of my life in the Dallas area. I have three times backpacked in Yellowstone National Park with Troop 777 and afterward earned my Eagle Scout rank. I was enrolled in L.V. Berkner High School which offers Digital Graphics and Animation; I was surprised that a high school level program uses Maya to teach the course, a rare opportunity for me to explore this field. At the end of my third year, my instructor, Jeff Bishop, offered me the chance to showcase my short film at the RISD Film Festival. My exposure to the AP Studio 2D Design course, taught by Hope Lattauzio, further expanded my artistic horizons. I recently finished taking Animation II this summer with professor Bruce Barnes and devoted the class towards creating my first demo reel targeted towards character animation. This past year, I attended Siggraph in New Orleans (If we met, please add me on
Facebook !)
Yellowstone National Park. Backpacking with the rest of my Troop.
One of our photo shoots, I was a test subject for trying out different lighting ratios.
